The students of Class VII of our school visited ‘VITASTA’2023 – A festival celebrating the spirit of Kashmir at the Kalakshetra Foundation on 30^th January 2023. The Vitasta festival was presented as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India to provide a glimpse of the river ‘Vitasta’ currently known as Jhelum.

The students of our school got to see on stage performances of classical and folk dances, craft bazaar and other activities. They first visited the weaving stall where a giant handloom was displayed and saw various ways of printing on cloth like the block print etc. Many stalls which showcased the crafts of Kashmir, from embossed boxes to clothes and jewellery were on display.
