A group of ten Class 12 Psychology students from both the Humanities and Biology streams participated in a two-week summer internship at TTK Hospital for Rehabilitation and De-addiction from 28th April to 10th May. The programme offered a comprehensive learning experience—from understanding the nature of addiction and observing detox and intake procedures, to attending patient and family sessions. Students also took part in group therapy to develop empathy and self-awareness. Classroom concepts like classical conditioning and aversion therapy were reinforced through practical insights shared by experienced counsellors. This immersive experience deepened their understanding of the counselling profession and enhanced their grasp of psychological theories through real-world application.
