On 21st June 2025, our school celebrated International Yoga Day, honouring the timeless benefits of this ancient practice for the body, mind and spirit. Students and teachers enthusiastically participated in various yoga asanas, breathing exercises and meditation sessions, embracing the holistic essence of yoga.
This year, 60 NCC cadets and 120 students from Std VI took part in the celebration. The event fostered a sense of wellness, focus and inner peace, highlighting the relevance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world.
The Principal, Smt. S Vidyalakshmi, addressed the gathering and shared insights on the profound impact of yoga on both physical and mental well-being. The day’s practice imparted valuable lessons on balance, discipline and mindfulness, encouraging all participants to lead a healthier and more conscious lifestyle.
As a part of the extended observance of Yoga Day, our students from Classes IX to XI participated in a special programme conducted by Yoga Chikitsa Shibhiram at Rukmini Arangam. They attended a powerful session on Mind Management by Sri Manohar ji of SKY Yoga, followed by an insightful session on Yogic Management for Respiratory Disorders by Ms. Swathini, a well-known yoga instructor.
