The 21st edition of the Sankara Model United Nations (SANMUN 2026), held in June 2026, brought together over 210 delegates from more than 30 schools to engage in rigorous diplomacy, debate and global problem-solving. Inaugurated by Dr. M.S. Narassima, Assistant Professor at the Great Lakes Institute of Management, who emphasized analytical thinking, collaboration and integrity, the conference operated under the motto “Esto Lux Veritas” (“Let Truth Be the Light”). Under the leadership of Secretary-General Trayee Sriramadhesigan, Director-General S Shri Raghav and MUN Coordinator Mrs Vijayalakshmi Balaji, delegates executed intense negotiations across five dynamic committees: The United Nations Human Rights Council, The United Nations Security Council, The All India Political Parties Meet, The Joint Crisis Committee and The International Press Corps. . The premier event concluded with a valedictory and awards ceremony led by the school administration, where PSBB K.K. Nagar secured the Runner-Up trophy and Chettinad Vidyashram was distinguished with both the Best Delegation title and the Overall Best Delegate award, reaffirming SANMUN’s legacy of cultivating leadership and global citizenship.
