The Rotary Club of Madras organised a visit to the 44th Chess Olympiad in Mamallapuram, Chennai, in August, 2022. The Interact office bearers of the school visited the Chess Olympiad on 10th August, 2022. The guide showed the interactors around the massive campus, provided information regarding the competition and spoke about how it was organized in a short span of four months. The event provided the Interact office bearers insight into the nuances of organizing and hosting an international event, factoring in various costs such as labour, food and capital. This was the first time that the International Chess Olympiad was hosted in India. Overall, the event was informative, insightful and delightful.
