The annual Biology-Biotechnology expo of the school ‘Exons’ took place on the 2nd of December. The theme of this year was chosen to be ‘Towards Transformation’. Over 70 students from across 10 schools participated in the event. The day started with the Inauguration. The chief guest, Mr. N Kumar, Vice Chairman, Sanmar group, the managing trustee of the school graced the occasion with his presence. A trailer for Exons, with past and current achievements was displayed. After the Inauguration, the chief guest was escorted for visiting the Bio and Biotech lab where the projects of the students of std 11 and 12 were displayed. The first event of the day was Quiz Prelims. The participants were made to solve 2 crosswords within half an hour. The students who participated in the Exhibits Showcase set up their displays. The event that followed was R&D. Dr. Prakash and Dr. Masilamani, Associate professors, Department of Biotechnology at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology were the judges for this event, along with Paper Presentation and Exhibits. After R&D followed by a quick lunch break, Paper Presentation and the quiz finals took place simultaneously. Finally, the winners of the 4 events were announced and awarded their prizes in the Valediction ceremony. Overall, it was a very successful event.
