Mathrubhasha Diwas was celebrated on 21st February with an array of activities conducted. Students of Std VII and VIII delivered speeches in Hindi and Tamil, highlighting the greatness of the languages and the need to focus on the mother tongue, during the assembly conducted on the day. As part of the celebrations, a Hindi drama was also presented. Students recited poems in both languages. There was also a short display of the cultural costumes of various states and the students introduced common phrases of Kashmiri, Punjabi and Marathi to the audience. A Tamil essay competition was also conducted to commemorate the day.
