On the 8th of July, 2018, the Interact Club of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Sri SankaraVidhyashram, the Rotaract Club of Jeppiaar College of Engineering, the students of few other neighbourhood schools and the elderly people of the Vishranthi Old Age Home participated in a walkathon along the stretch of the Palavakkam Beach to mark the 40th year anniversary of The Vishranthi Home for Aged Destitute Women. The President Rtn. P N Mohan flagged off the event. The walkathon also saw the participation of Rtn. Prabha Srinivasan, the incoming Secretary and Rtn. Sesha Sai. The students were seen holding placards in their hands to commemorate the anniversary and to show their support. The walkathon ended upon arrival at the Vishranthi Old Age Home. Rtn. Prabha Srinivasan distributed the participation certificates to the respective schools and institutions. The students also interacted with the elderly people of the Old Age Home.
