On the 2nd of October, 2018, the students of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School participated in an initiative called the “Honour and Serve” which was driven by ECO kitchen, a non-profit organisation aimed at enhancing communityopportunities. This event was conducted as a part of a week-long festival called the “DaanUtsav”. These students along with the students of other schools of the neighbourhood helped in setting up the programs and monitoring the entire event. Over 300 hundred conservancy workers were welcomed on this occasion and were thanked, commended with a medal and were served lunch. There were also entertainment programs conducted for their recreation. The event ended with a pledge taken by the students and the citizens of the neighbourhood to keep their neighbourhood clean and healthy by not littering it.
