The Brain Centre at IIT Madras, organised an office tour for the students of Std XI to explain the main purpose of the centre to map the brain’s structure while providing insights on the various processes involved, in October 2023. The students got to see and learn about the various machineries used and some of the processes being conducted live. They were shown the 3-D model of the brain, the cryopreservation, the slicing of the brain into very thin segments and plating of these segments. The session enabled the students to understand the complex structure of the brain and they also gained knowledge of new methods.
