Growing Green: A Seminar on Organic Diets and Farming for Young Learners

A seminar on organic farming and healthy diet was conducted by Akshayakalpa, India’s first certified organic dairy enterprise. It was held specially for Class 5 students to help them learn about natural food. The farmers explained how organic farming avoids harmful chemicals. Students were taught about nutritive values of food, health benefits of organic foods, obesity and its consequences

They learned how fruits and vegetables grow without pesticides using natural techniques. The importance of soil health and composting was explained in fun, simple ways. Children were excited to hear about honeybees and how they help plants grow. The farmers also spoke about eating fresh, chemical-free food for better health. A small tasting session of organic snacks was arranged, which students enjoyed.

The seminar ended with a quiz and students received eco-friendly and tasty goodies.
