The Humanities Club of our school was inaugurated on August 18th 2023 in the school auditorium. Humanities Students of class 11 and 12 were the audience.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of our Senior Principal Ms Mita Venkatesh, who shared her thoughts about how studying humanities subjects would help change our perception about life and mould us into better adjusting and socially responsible human beings.
The chief guest for the occasion was Ms. Sheeba Williams, senior counsellor, TTK Hospital, Chennai. During the inaugural lecture, as an eminent expert in the field of Psychology, she shared her insightful knowledge about the field of humanities, specifically about the importance of mental health. She also spoke about the complexities of drug abuse and its impact on individuals and society. During the session, the students were posed with thought provoking riddles and challenges that challenged their prior ideas. She left the students with a better understanding of the horrors of substance abuse and addiction and the imprint it leaves on those involved as well as skills we obtain from learning humanities.
