The celebration of the 77th Independence Day and the culmination of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ began on 14th August with the students of the primary presenting themselves in the colours of the tricolour. The Principal, Smt Vidyalakshmi S, hoisted the flag on Independence Day. The school music team rendered the flag song and patriotic songs. The student council led the NCC Cadets during the march past. The Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of reflecting on the past, acknowledging the present and embracing a bright future. The Principal, Smt Vidyalakshmi S and the School Pupil Leader, S Rahul, planted saplings as a tribute to the Param Vir Chakra awardees.
The celebration included fusion dance, recitation of Bharathiyar poem in Tamil, a poem in Hindi, glorifying Jansi Rani Lakshmi Bhai’s valour and a speech in English, about the rich heritage of Vasantha Press, depicting the actual location of the school and the connection of the press with the freedom movement.
