The Department of Sanskrit of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School hosted the inter-school Sanskrit culturals Sānvīkṣikī on 19th August 2025 as part of the Sanskrit Day celebrations. A total of 112 students from 9 schools enthusiastically participated in competitions such as Chitrakala, Aksharashloka, Prose Chanting, Quiz, Group Song, Monoact and Prabhashanam, all aligned with the year’s theme – the great Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. Students of Classes IX to XII of our school efficiently compered and managed the programme, while students of Classes VI to X presented a creative drawing exhibition, beautifully depicting the Ekashloki Ramayana and Ekashloki Bharata. The event was inaugurated by Dr. S. Shivaguhan, Assistant Librarian, Government Oriental Manuscript Library and the prize distribution ceremony was graced by Dr. C. Hariharan, Digital Campus Director, The Madras Sanskrit College. The coveted overall trophy was bagged by DAV Girls School, Gopalapuram.
The programme was conducted in the esteemed presence of our Principal, Smt. S Vidyalakshmi, Vice Principals Smt. Kavitha Anand, Smt. M Lakshmi, and Smt. Ranjini Satish Kumar, along with Sanskrit teachers Smt. Ganga O M and Smt. Sharadha K.
The event turned out to be a vibrant celebration of the Sanskrit language and culture, reflecting the creativity, scholarship and enthusiasm of the participants, while inspiring students to delve deeper into the timeless treasures of India’s literary heritage.
