Our teachers V Sunanda Irene and Sowmya M attended the KURUVILA JACOB WORKSHOP MODULE 1 – I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE (VIII BATCH) on 28th and 29th January 2019.
The workshop highlighted the purpose of being “a teacher”. It made them realize the true meaning of being a teacher, by relating to real life experiences in the form of activities. “Empathy” was an important aspect of the workshop, and it was repeatedly stressed on the fact that we must accept and acknowledge other person’s emotion to create a strong bond with others.
A movie titled “TO SIR WITH LOVE” was played in three parts to show case the desirable characters in a teacher. The discussion emphasized that emotions are powerful and that they impact our decision making, our performance and relationships. We should not let our past or current failure to haunt us; also we should clearly understand that our past or current failure does not define our worthiness as a human being.
Teaching is a gifted profession as it touches the lives of the individuals. Every teacher should have “My time” which is a supplement for a beautiful relationship with oneself and also with others. The main motto of this workshop was “I’m Shameless and Fearless to learn.”
