SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan which was launched on 2nd October, 2014 aims at solving the sanitation problem and waste management in India by ensuring hygiene across the country. The prime objective of the mission is to create sanitation facilities for all. The Prime Minister has rightly asserted that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan should be a combined effort of both the Government as well as the people. So, as students, it’s our duty to make sure that this campaign is a success rather than waiting for the government to make it one. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged each and every one of us to pledge the following as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:
“I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this.
I will devote 100 hours per year, that is two hours per week, to voluntarily work for cleanliness. I will neither litter not let others litter. I will initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place”.
So, students are requested to take the following steps to support the campaign:
1. Students should strive to keep their classrooms and corridors clean by not littering.
2. They can make sure that their families don’t throw away waste in public places.
3. Besides, students can organize cleanliness/awareness drive in their locality by urging the neighbours to use
public waste disposal systems or generate funds to create/maintain a waste disposal location in their locality.
Students can very well help in maintaining such locations.
There can be no better ambassadors of such a noble cause than students.
So let us all work with all our hearts towards making our country clean!
