On June 10, 2024, Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, had the distinct honor of hosting a distinguished delegation from Finland, including H.E. Mr. Kimmo Lähdevirta, Ambassador of Finland to India, Mrs. Pia Kaikonen, Spouse of Ambassador of Finland to India, Mr. Chidambaram, Honorary Consul, Dr. Antti Herlevi, Trade and Investment Counsellor, Dr. Liisa Toivonen, Counsellor, Ms. Enja Seppänen, Junior Advisor, Mr. Soyam Sakshi, Trade and Commerce Coordinator, Heramb Kulkarni, Director, Council for Creative Education Finland, and Shirin Kulkarni, Research Director, Council for Creative Education Finland. The top management of the school warmly received and honored the guests. The students of Std IX presented the various Phenomenon-based Learning (PhBL) activities conducted during the previous academic year, highlighting the school’s shift to a multidisciplinary, constructivist pedagogy. Following the presentation, a group discussion ensued, providing an enriching opportunity to explore the nuances of the Finnish education system. The Finnish delegates deeply appreciated the efforts of both students and teachers in implementing PhBL, particularly noting the diversity and creativity of the activities. This event marked a significant milestone for Sri Sankara School and set the stage for further integration of PhBL in the coming years, underscoring the school’s commitment to innovative educational practices and paving the way for ongoing collaboration and pedagogical improvement.
