This year, the theme for Math club activities is “Appreciating and exploring our roots” .
Students of class IX attended a lecture by Dr.Rama on Mathematicians in the Vedic era and their contributions. They were assessed through a quiz. Class X students learnt to use Geogebra from Mr. Venkatesh Balaji and used it to create geometrical designs from Monuments. Class XI was enthralled by a lecture on Astronomy and Mathematics. These activities helped them to be aware of our rich treasure, and aroused curiosity in them to explore more deeper. Middle school students assessed their logical reasoning skills through a written quiz. Class XII students attended a lecture on COMPETENCIES FOR MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING APPLIED TO REAL WORLD CHALLENGES
One of the key highlights of the session was the three key words for success- flexibility, fluency, and failure. This is a very important learning for class 12 students, to face downfalls. Students explored Solving Fermis problems, which develop mathematical thinking and problem solving skills.
