Road Safety Awareness

In observance of Zero Accident Day, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) organized a reel-making competition aimed at raising road safety awareness. The competition focused on five key areas: road safety, traffic rules awareness, safe driving practices, pedestrian safety, and community involvement. A dedicated group of Std 11 students from our school enthusiastically participated by creating a compelling short reel. The reel creatively emphasized the importance of wearing helmets, using seat belts and adhering to various traffic regulations. Its engaging presentation effectively communicated the critical message of responsible behavior on the road.

In support of the ‘Zero is Good’ campaign, the Interact Club of our school further extended the road safety initiative by organizing a quiz competition for students of classes 8 and 9. The quiz covered a wide range of topics, including traffic signs, safety signals and key facts about the ‘Zero is Good’ campaign. The objective was to reinforce students’ understanding of traffic regulations and to encourage them to be conscientious and responsible citizens.

The road safety awareness program was a resounding success. It not only enhanced students’ knowledge of traffic laws and signals but also highlighted the importance of adherence to these rules. Both the reel and the quiz served as effective tools in spreading road safety awareness, with students showing great enthusiasm and active participation. Initiatives like these are vital in fostering a safer and more aware community.
