SANMUN 2025

The 20th edition of Chennai’s Oldest Model UN Conference, SANMUN 2025, took place on the 22nd and 23rd of August, 2025. The conference hosted 200+ participants across 23 schools. The Chief Guest, Sqn. Ldr. Unni Nair, former commissioned officer of the Indian Air Force, inaugurated the event along with Principal Mrs. Vidyalakshmi, and Model UN Coordinators Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Balaji, Mrs. Banani Dhar, and Mrs. Shanthi Jeyan. The motto for this year’s edition was ‘Ordo Ab Chao’, reflecting the uncertainty, significance and excitement of the topics deliberated upon. There were seven committees- Strategic Council on National Reclamation (SCNR), Non-Proliferation Treaty Review and Extension Conference 1995 (NPT), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NITI AAYOG Governing Council Meeting, and the International Press Corps which consisted of the International Press Journalism (IPJ) and the International Press Photography (IPP) committees. The conference was headed by Secretary-General Kasturiranga Sriram and Director- General Ovya Rajesh, along with around 25 Organizing Committee Members across standards 11 and 12. The committees were adjudicated by experienced Executive Board Members, from various schools and colleges. The conference ended with the Principal and Vice Principals felicitating the winners. Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (KK Nagar) bagged the Best Delegation Award and the Runner Up Best Delegation was won by Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (Nungambakkam).
