World Environment Day

On 5th June, in celebration of World Environment Day, the Ministry of Tourism organised a special screening for students to raise awareness about the Nilgiris Biosphere. Thirty two students across Std IX, X and XI participated in this event. The short film, “Nilgiris: A Shared Wilderness”, was shown at the Tagore Film Centre, NFDC. The documentary beautifully captured the breathtaking biodiversity of the Nilgiris, highlighting its wide range of flora and fauna.

The experience was both informative and enjoyable for the students. It not only deepened their understanding of the ecological significance of the Nilgiris but also instilled in them a greater appreciation for nature and conservation. The initiative proved to be a meaningful way to combine learning with environmental awareness.
